LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE
contact@spectrumam.com
Goals:
To work towards increased property values in the community by educating and encouraging owners in the community to keep their properties well maintained, through articles in newsletters and yard-of-the-month programs.
Be the eyes of the community for irrigation problems that require emergency attention.
Functions/Responsibilities:
The Landscape Chair heads up the Landscape Committee members.
The Landscape Chair sees that service providers of the Association are
maintaining the landscaping of the common areas, i.e. mowing, weed and
insect control, irrigation system, and foliage. Landscaping is the largest single
annual expense incurred by the Association; it is also our most visible asset.
The Landscape Chair and its committee choose the spring and fall foliage
by working with The HOA’s Landscaping Maintenance Company.
The Landscape Chair shall attend the Annual HOA meeting, which are
usually conducted in the month of March, and give a short presentation to
the community.
The Landscape Chair shall meet, when warranted, with other Committee
Chairs to complete their assigned responsibilities. Committee Chairs usually
meet with the Board of Directors once or twice a year to plan budgets and to
discuss and plan community functions/improvements.
Landscape Chair has the authority to authorize work and repairs up to
$1,000 for each occurrence. Repairs exceeding this amount need to be
authorized by the Board of Directors. Receipts for work and repairs will be
provided to the Board of Directors.
The Landscape Chair and its committee will be responsible for overseeing
the placement of American Flags in the Common Areas during appropriate
holidays.
The Landscape Chair and its committee shall be responsible for overseeing
Christmas decorations and lighting. These activities will include design as
well as oversite of the installation and removal of said items.
Periodically the services provided to the Association will be bid out using an
RFP. This activity will need to be approved by the Board of Directors. Once
approved, the Landscape Chair will work with the Board of Directors on the
creation of the RFP, review of proposals received from service providers,
and selection of a successful service provider.
